Nine Things To Do Everyday!

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day, and while you walk, smile. This will lift your spirits every
    time!
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Thank God for what He’s done, talk about what is
going on in your life, & read the Bible (The first two parts of this can be done while walking…the
last part if you have the Bible on an Ipod).
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,
  “Today I will__________ . I am thankful for______________ .”
4. Drink plenty of water & eat a piece of fruit.
5. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
6. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a college student. : )
7. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Remember to agree to disagree.
8. Do at least one sacrificial thing for someone else each day.
9. Each night, before you go to bed complete the following statements:
  “I am thankful for__________.”

stuck in my chair for now

After all week at doctor appointments I am in a brace and on crutches for an unknown amount of time.
Waiting for a call back for an MRI..... waiting is the hard part... not knowing how long this will go on.
Are you wondering what happened??? I fell a couple weeks ago and my knees have just gotten worse instead of better, so here I sit, stuck in my chair for now.

Sky watching the Haboob!

Sky watchers.... the Haboob of Arizona.. and it was an incredible

And a little scary , but it was a huge dust storm and the sky was taken over.

Friday Food: Jamming Jams.... yum!

I am off to my Aunt's house this weekend to visit and make some Peach Jam and Rose Jelly!!

Peach Jam
3 lbs. ripe peaches (10-12)
3 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. lite powdered fruit pectin
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Measure 5 cups finely chopped peaches. In an 8 to 10 quart kettle combine peaches and lemon juice. Combine pectin and 1/4 cup sugar; stir into peach mixture. Add butter (this reduces foaming during cooking). Bring peach mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.
Stir in 3 1/4 cups sugar. Return to a full rolling boil. Boil hard, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. With a large metal spoon, quickly skim off and foam.
Ladle jam at once into clean sterilized jars, leaving 1/4" headspace between jar and jam. Clean rims of jars and place lids on jars and processing in a hot water bath 5 minutes. Makes 6 to 7 half pints. 34 calories per tablespoon.

Fun Kiddo Cooking

My little one has been begging me to let her try cooking in our crockpot
She got this book as a gift and it is terrific!!
She is in the kitchen making Creamy Corn Pudding.

Looks like this cookbook is a keeper! "Now kids can prepare food in a slow cooker! No open flame! No hot stove top! Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker offers kids the direction they need to prepare main courses, snacks, and desserts. "Take your children a step beyond nachos and cupcakes," says author Phyllis Pellman Good. "Let them prepare a tasty main dish in that easy-to-get-along-with appliance the slow cooker." Each recipe includes a full-color photo of the finished dish. Each recipe gives clear step-by-step instructions. Each supplies a list of ingredients and a list of equipment needed to complete the prep."

Celebration in the Sky

God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her,
And guide her,
Through the night,
Like a light,
From above......

227 years ago...on July 4th, 1776
This great nation, the United States of America,
In a struggle for what was right and free,
Was proudly born...
May we celebrate that precious freedom
For which our forbears fought so bravely...
The freedom that is inherent
In the Stars and Stripes, our revered flag...
Celebrate Freedom
This Fourth of July!

NOW  HERE IS MY KIND 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION!!!!!

Visit sky watch..... it is so cool!
