fun fun Friday

We made a spontaneous stop today in Newport Beach...

Thirty minutes is all the parking meter would allow us....
parking was almost impossible...

thought about a stroll down the pier... but

the boardwalk stands looked so tempting, we got lunch instead...and headed for the water of course...

no use going to the pacific ocean if you cant put your toes in the water

or search for sea shells...

Just as we began to get carried away, playing in the surf...
We realized it had been 4o minutes and our parking meter would be up... so we ran , wet, sandy, happy and carefree, back to our parking space. Got home with pockets full of seashells...

And some great memories made today!!!

Pink Lemonade Pie

This is a family favorite  here.

1 can (14 oz.) Condensed milk
1 large can (6 oz.) of Minute Maid Pink Lemonade
1 -8 oz.container of Coolwhip Whipped Cream
2 Tablespoons of lemon zest
1 Graham Cracker pre-made pie crust.

Mix the defrosted pink lemonade with whipped cream and condensed milk until smooth with no lumps.Fold in the lemon zest. Pour into pie crust and chill for at least 3-4 hours before serving.
I thought I would post this 'Foodie Friday' post a bit early so everyone could make one for memorial weekend!

Tea Cup Tuesday!

I have a pretty little tea cup,
I set it out to dry.
A pretty little teacup
That is there when I cry.

I cried when I first got it
From my dearest grand mama
Given to me as an heirloom
Before she passed through her comma.

She said, “Dear how I love you
And how beautiful you’ve become.
Let this teacup catch your tears
When you are feeling glum.

“And when you see this teacup,
Always think of me.
And each tear that it catches
Remember when I would nestle you on my knee.

“This teacup is my promise
Though fragile and delicate
That someday soon we will come together
When we meet at Heaven’s gate.”

And now that she is gone
I hold close my little cup
And when I feel alone,
I tend to find myself looking up.

My grandma, she is up there
And I know she’s looking down
I know she’s always watching
Which turns my smile from a frown.

My cup is not dry tonight
For I let Grandma catch my tears
I hug my cup, I hug her close tonight
How I have missed her throughout the years.

I love you my sweet grandma
I cannot wait to see you someday
Thank you for blessing me
In every single way.

Be Kind Anyway...

BE KIND ANYWAY

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

--- Kent Keith (originally), later tweaked by Mother Teresa
